Another week of Project Life in the books!
Highlights from our week:
Caden was sick on Monday and Tuesday. You might think a child would be miserable having a high fever among other unmentionable symptoms, but NO...not this tiny person. He was totally milking it for yummy drinks, movies, and free Kindle and Wii time. Chase witnessed all the spoiling and tried to pull a fast one on me by making a visit to the school nurse, and then telling me when I picked him up that he had a fever. I called said nurse to confirm the accuracy of this, and it ended up being half true. He DID visit the nurse, he did NOT have a fever. I really think he just wanted some Gatorade and video game time. It didn't work out for him.
Chase informed me that his favorite time at school is when I come to get him. (Perhaps this was a contributing factor in his nurse's office visit...hoping for an early departure maybe?) He is always so cute when he sees me waiting for him at the door. He always hollers out, "Mommy!" Then he runs over to me with a huge smile on his face and hugs me like he hasn't seen me for days. It really does make my heart so happy. The best greeting ever.
Cole and I are studying really hard for the MSP. Let me just say for documentation purposes that my Cole is NOT a good speller. (Is it bad that I just said that? It's really true.) Good thing it doesn't matter on the test...otherwise we might be in trouble. One of Cole's parents is a really good speller. The other one...not so much. You can guess who is who. (I will be really embarrassed if this post ends up with a typo or two, because I am the good speller, if you weren't sure.)
I redecorated my bathroom this week. I feel like a real grownup. Next up is our bedroom. Yay for grownup decor. It's like I'm almost forty or something.
In the spirit of redecoration, Cole and I visited Pier One. There were many peacock decorations there. Cole confided to me that he has a secret fear of peacocks. (It's not a secret anymore. Sorry Cole, comedic license and memory keeping takes precedence.) He's never mentioned this before, but judging from his behavior towards the peacock decor, he wasn't joking.
My mom came over and played some Just Dance with us. The woman got her swerve on, fo sho. Cole said it was unexpected. I disagreed. I knew she had it in her...drill team leader for life.
My dear neighbors moved to Texas early Sunday morning. I've been weeping like a baby for weeks now dreading their departure. I decided after they left that I was going to pick myself up by my boot straps and get on with my life. They've been gone for about 15 hours now. I've not be successful thus far. Going to miss my friend so so so much. Silver lining - we are going to institute a transcontinental bookclub. It's a very, very thin silver lining. I'd rather it was a culdesac bookclub. Maybe tomorrow is the day I'll get on with my life. Fingers crossed.
Here are my pages for the week!
