Ten on Ten: November

What is Ten on Ten?  It's one picture every hour for ten hours on the tenth of the month.
Why?  To discover the beauty in the ordinary.

Cole was very excited to find a heart in the center of his fruit loop.

First sign that Christmas is coming...my favorite coffee!

Helloooo, lover.  Goodbye, old dinosaur cell phone.  (Friends, do you see this??  I know you are happy for me.  Especially Sara, our Words with Friends rivalry is on, sister!)

Ten on Ten: October Favorites

I was so excited, thrilled, elated, ecstatic, and overjoyed to see that one of my pictures (the leaf) was one of Rebekah's ten favorites from October's Ten on Ten entries.  This is my first time making her favorites list.   It absolutely made my day, my week, my month, and possibly my year.  (2011 is coming to a close...it might be tough to beat this moment in the next few months.)  Hooray!  Whoo hoo!  Yipee!  EEEEeee!!!!!   (I mentioned I was excited, no?)  I LOVE taking pictures.  I still have so much to learn, but I LOVE it!  Thank you, Rebekah!!  This little bit of encouragement is going to go a long way!

Ten on Ten: October

Today was a very rainy day in the Pacific Northwest.

Chase and Perry the Platypus share a similar facial expression.

Pumpkin Patch

Here are some highlights from 2011's trip to the pumpkin patch.

We strapped on our rubber boots and made way to the muddy muddy field of pumpkins.
(I like the lone clean, pink girly pair of boots amidst the sea of masculine dirty footwear.)

spider rings

Alice in Wonderland's castle.

Caden blended in nicely with the rest of the pumpkins.

Then he face planted right into a mud puddle.  He was none to happy about this.  It didn't help that he desperately wanted a hug from me, but he was so dirty and I was more interested in taking a picture.
Poor buddy.

Do you like my sparkly Happy Halloween shirt?  Yep, I'm that mom.  Bedazzled.

The famous duck races.  Notice the intense faces.  It's serious business.

I told the boys to show me their scariest faces for these next few shots.  Here are their attempts.
(Chase had it down.)

Our first stop upon our arrival was the sling shot area.  Our first attempts were an epic fail.  But when we were getting ready to leave, Chad just couldn't accept another loss for the 2nd year in a row.
So we headed back for one last try. . .

Caden gave Daddy a good luck hug.

And it worked!
Chad and Cole hit the target and won an enormous pumpkin!
Victory is so sweet!

More celebrating...

And even more...

Winner's circle!  I ♥ teamboyd!

We had so much fun!  However, the ending was a bit of a downer for Caden.  He was somehow under the impression that because we went to the pumpkin patch, that it was also Halloween.  He was quite depressed when it became dark outside that it wasn't time to go gather candy from the neighbors.  He was still weeping about it at bed time.  My cute baby!

Bell Family Photos

My friend, Andrea, asked if I would take her family pictures.  I said, "What?  Who?  Me?"  Sound familiar?  I was so excited!  My AZB (that's Andrea) takes AMAZING and INSPIRING pictures that I am constantly admiring, so I was quite nervous to do this for her.

We met at Lake Wilderness.  This is what I learned from my second photo shoot:
#1.  It is a universal truth that husbands do not enjoy photo shoots.
#2.  Little girls are way more cooperative and patient during this process than little boys...at least my little boys.
#3.  It is very very very difficult to have three small children look in the same direction at one time.
#4.  I was so nervous, that I kind of got tunnel vision or something.  Right after it was over, suddenly I got all these great ideas for things we could've done with posing and backgrounds.  Why?  Why did it come to me thirty seconds too late?!

Here are some of my favorite pictures from our day.  Before you look, let me just say that these are the cutest girls you will ever see in your life...and they are all wearing boots...even the tiny baby.  (And when I say the cutest girls ever, I am including the mommy!)

And my favorite picture of all time. . .

Thank you, AZB for sharing your beautiful family with me!
