Total ECLIPSE Of MY Heart

I've recently been asked why it is that I love the Twilight books so much.  Besides the obvious answer of EDWARD, (isn't that reason enough?), what I love is the story of Bella and her journey.  She's just an ordinary girl finding herself in the most extraordinary circumstances that lead her to discover who she is meant to be, and more importantly, how ordinary she is not.  She doesn't see herself as very special, and there's nothing really outstanding or remarkable about her.  But she follows a path that reveals how special she is, and in the end discovers the place where this ordinary girl "shines" (figuratively and literally)! Oh swooon!  LOVE IT!  Now I do realize that these books aren't Pulitzer prize winning masterpieces of literature.  To quote a friend's perfect summary, "These books are the comfort food of the literary world, think macaroni and cheese...yummy."  (Thank you, Tiffany!)  I couldn't agree more.  Who doesn't love some mac-n-cheese from time to time.  Normally I don't allow myself to indulge in "chick lit", and Chad and I have both agreed that aside from Twilight, it's probably best that I steer clear of any more books that might inspire a similar response in me.

Eclipse is my absolute FAVORITE book in the series.  (It's not my favorite book EVER, so don't judge me.)  So to truly honor the occassion, Tia, Shanna and I just had to see the premiere of Eclipse at midnight at the fancy theater in Redmond.  As the Cullens would intend it to be experienced.

We started our extravaganza with the appropriate attire, pedicures and manicures, and Thai food.  Alice would approve of this (except the food).

Then we headed to the fancy theater to awaite the arrival of our eagerly antipicated movie.  We passed the time with New Moon and Twilight board games, and Twilight related editorials.  (Doesn't 'editorial' sound so much more sophisticated than 'magazine'.  We in fact are NOT teenagers, just because we wear Eclipse t-shirts and pledge our allegiance to Team Edward.  We read editorials for crying out loud, we're mature women.  Sophisticated.  Demure even.  Cullen-esque, if you will.)

The time finally came for us to be escorted to our Oprah-style movie theater.  Can't you just sense the anticipation in our faces!  The enthusiasm is palpable!  Only a handful of moments until cinematic history is made!  (Too far?)
I won't get into the deep dialogues and discussions that have since ensued about the movie versus the book between Shanna and I and my other various Twilight friends.  But I will say that my attendance to the movie FOUR times since its' opening should very well be endorsement enough.  Of course, PFach and RPattz delivered Oscar-worthy performances.  (Too far again?)

Who has the world's best husband?

I can't conclude this post without the most important proclamation...

Team Edward!

I love the title of this post. I love the Twilight knee socks, and love your cute hair in those first showing pictures.

Wow, that is quite an Eclipse experience! I can't even imagine what you guys paid to see it at that theatre. Kirstin & I went on a normal night & it was crazy $$, but so fun to be pampered! :-)
