Then I was reminded of this poem that Chad wrote in the sixth grade entitled Eagle. (He is going to love that I'm sharing this on my blog. He'll really, really enjoy this. A lot.) It goes like this:
EAGLE
I wish I were an eagle,
So I could fly so high,
And never come down to meet the ground.
I like fish from the stream.
I'm a nation's dream.
I love this poem. I think it is a real masterpiece for a sixth grader. The first time I read it I thought, how can I get this framed, bronzed, shellacked, carved onto stone, engraved on a piece of jewelry, or tattooed somewhere on my body? I seriously love it that much. Oh Chad, you are also just so adorable. I love you. And now we know where our boys get their love for nature and wildlife, as well as all their other adorable qualities.
"I'm a nation's dream." I love that line. It's my favorite part. Love it!
