I Am So Mad, I Could Spit!

I won't because that'd be gross.  But I AM that mad.  I normally try to keep my blog a happy place, but every once in a while I like to insert some harsh reality that is my life - and this is one of those times.  See this picture?  This is a good representation of how we've been spending a lot of our time lately since it's been monsooning for a decade.  Inside.  Bored.  Lots of TV.  (I love how Caden set himself up for maximum comfort...but I'm not here to share happy thoughts right now, so disregard that.)

So imagine my happiness, surprise, and delight when I opened my eyes yesterday morning to a little bit of sunlight, and no rain in sight.  I was just telling Chad the night before how our lives are going to get so much better when the weather improves and we can go outside.  So around 10:00, I sent my boys outside to play.  They were having so much fun, and I was loving every second of it, when I got a knock on my door about 30 minutes into our outdoor fun.  It was my neighbor - who I hardly know, with an uncomfortable look on his face.  Why was he uncomfortable?  Because he was at my door to tell me that his wife is working nights and my kids were being too loud while she was trying to sleep, and would I quiet them down because her bedroom window is next to our backyard.  Seriously?  I could've starting screaming myself!  I mean, sure, if they were outside screeching and squealing bloody murder, I would be inclined to quiet them down without anyone prompting me. But they were just playing.  Outside.  In the middle of the day.  In their own backyard.  On the first day of decent weather in a month.  I still can not believe this happened.  Who knocks on their neighbor's door to ask their children to be quiet in their own backyard?  It wasn't like we'd been outside for hours and hours, it was 30 minutes, out of the last 40 days!  And like I'm going to say to my children, "I'm sorry, boys, I know we're outside, but please use your library voices."   I'm still so mad about it - still not spitting - but still kind of wanting to.

What incredible NERVE!!! What did you say?! This happened to me years ago (before kids) when I was mowing my lawn... I was asked to stop because my neighbor was trying to get her baby to nap.
